I love to photograph old buildings and ancient landscapes, always trying to capture a sense of history and atmosphere. Many of the houses I am drawn to have seen better times and are waiting to be saved, some are lived in and well-worn, and some have been abandonned, leaving just a hint of their occupants and their past lives. With Somerset as the backdrop, I search for landscapes which have been shaped by centuries of settlements and farming.
My work often crosses the boundary between photography and painting and I enjoy exploring that element of creativity.
Two of my current projects are 'A Very Private View'- a sensitive visual record of much-loved family homes, and 'Somerset in Black and White' - capturing both the enduring and ever-changing seasonal landscapes that catch my eye while explororing.
